Privacy Policy
India Weather is designed to respect your privacy. The app has no user accounts, no first-party analytics, and no cross-app tracking by the developer. This policy explains what the app accesses and why.
Information the app uses
Location (optional). If you grant location permission, the app uses your device's location on the device to find the nearest Indian city and show its weather. You can use the app without location permission — it falls back to a featured city, and you can search for any city manually. We do not store your location or link it to your identity.
Weather requests. To show forecasts, the app sends the coordinates of the selected city (not a personal identifier) to the Open-Meteo weather service. Open-Meteo does not require an account or API key. See Open-Meteo's terms.
Images. City and state photos are loaded on demand from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org). As with any web request, the image host may receive your device's IP address. You can disable all image downloads with Data Saver in Settings.
On-device data. Your favorites, unit and language preferences, and a short-lived weather cache are stored only on your device (and in your normal device/iCloud backup, if you use one). They are never transmitted to us. There are no servers operated by this app.
Advertising
The free version of the app shows banner ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob may collect device information and identifiers as described in Google's policies (google.com/technologies/partner-sites). The optional Premium purchase removes all ads. We (the app developer) do not receive or store any of this advertising data — it is handled by Google.
Notifications
If you enable Notifications, the app schedules a local daily weather reminder on your device. No data leaves your device for this feature.
Data the developer collects
The developer does not operate a server and does not directly collect, store, or sell personal data. Data handling is limited to: weather requests to Open-Meteo (city coordinates), image requests to Wikimedia, and advertising handled by Google AdMob (free version only). There is no account system and no first-party analytics.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
